The Cat and the Butterfly.Upon a sleepy hilltop rested a bleak hamlet. Days passed as they did everywhere, but with little significance to those who lived here. Nothing out the ordinary happened in this town; no great highs, no woeful lows. The people that populated the community were an unconcerned folk; going about their business with little concern for what lay about them. Each morning the townspeople would stir from their collective slumber, and monotonously perform as they had always performed, and as they always would. The Cat and the Butterfly.
It wasnt the people of the town, but the animals that seemed to have a more romantic grasp on the world. Even though the build

Fate of the hunted.[3.0]Fate of the hunted.
The explosion shakes the night. Birds displace themselves from their pearches, screeching in idiot alarm.
The reckage of the locomotive is grizzly. Tracks coil from the heat and force of the explosion, and the earth is plowed feet high from the cow-catchers inertia. Suddenly climbing, you perch onto the hood of some crushed thing, and then are leaping and then running again. Your feet carry you deeper into the trolleys graveyard. The Trolley Graveyard.
Some layer of your mind peels back and you remember yourself. Something squirms and floats intelligently behind your eyes. Like falling into a bay of water, me

Vengeance.[2.1]Vengeance.
From behind a towering desk Maxxam Badland Fletcher slings stern, yet careful, words at the lithe figure standing opposite him. The large man shifts his weight in his seat, leans a fat arm on the hard-wood, and looms across the desk. Grimacing, his brow furrows, and a stubby finger thumps the man in front of him in the chest. His lantern jaw tenses before hissing veiled threats that are countered with impassiveness and nonchalance.
The standing man is equally relaxed as he is at attention. A familiar commanding tone shou
